Elementary School Teacher for the 2025-2026 School Year
Position Summary: St Mary, Help of Christians Catholic School seeks a joyful, intellectually-motivated teacher to lead students in the pursuit of knowledge, wisdom, and virtue. The position focuses on core classes, but teaching techniques can be adapted to the skills and interests of the teacher. St. Mary, Help of Christians teachers should possess competency not simply in their primary discipline but should model a life in pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty through the lens of the Catholic Faith in all subjects. A bachelor’s degree is required for this position. Applicants must be practicing Catholics who adhere to all magisterial teachings of the Church. This position focuses on engaging preschool-level students in hands-on learning and preparation for kindergarten. Custodian for St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic School
Position Summary: A custodian in a Catholic school is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the educational facilities, ensuring that students and staff have a clean and orderly environment for learning and working. The custodian performs a variety of tasks, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and restocking supplies. They also assist in the maintenance of equipment and supplies, promoting workplace safety and environmental practices.
Key responsibilities include:
● Cleaning and maintaining classrooms, bathrooms, cafeterias, offices, and other public areas
● Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and adjusting furniture
● Ensuring proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
● Reporting needs and concerns to appropriate staff and addressing them accordingly
Education Requirements/Position Qualifications:
● High school diploma/GED
● Previous experience as custodian
● Ability to work in fast-paced environment
● Ability to keep track of inventory
● Ability to work in the afternoon/evenings
● Attention to detail
● Knowledge of cleaning chemical usage and safety handling
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
● This position requires lifting up to 50 pounds (stocking cleaning supplies) and use of cleaning chemicals
● Physical activities may include standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, and use of cleaning tools
